Historycal and objective of the Brazil-wood program.The Brazil-wood is an arboreal species characteristic of the Atlantic forest, that occurs from Rio Grande do Norte to São Paulo . In many areas of its natural occurrence, it was eradicated. In the cocoa region of Bahia , its survival is basically due to the agricultural model of Cabruca-Cocoa developed for the establishment of culture. It had an outstanding and active participation in the history of the country, not only politics as economical, since the colonization period until the republic origins.
